Data retention
Newsletter subscriptions are kept for as long as you remain subscribed, and are removed if you unsubscribe. Contact-form submissions are retained for up to twelve months for editorial follow-up, after which they are deleted unless a longer retention is required by law or by an ongoing conversation you have opened with us. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics defaults (currently fourteen months for event data).
Data transfers
The website is hosted on infrastructure operated in India by a provider that stores backups in the same region. Some of the third-party services we use, including Google Analytics and Google AdSense, transfer data to servers in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where such transfers happen from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, they are governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses that the providers publish on their trust pages.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we collect. All traffic to and from the website is served over HTTPS. Our web infrastructure sits behind a reputable content delivery network. No system is ever perfectly secure.
